Museum Evening of Woodland
Enchantment a Success This year’s Cable Natural History Museum's annual auction and gourmet buffet located at the private home of Pete and Colleen McIntyre was a truly a night of enchantment, netted over $48,000, over 15% of our annual budget, much needed funding for Museum programs and exhibits. Area restaurants such as the Brick House Café & Catering, Crossroads Restaurant, Garmisch, Lakewoods Resort, Mooselips Java Joint, Northern Lakes Cooperative, Rivers Eatery, The Rookery Pub and Café, Tally Ho Supper Club and Backroads Coffee and Tea prepared a delicious buffet that evening for over 170 Museum supporters. Event Chair Gretchen Bell Hannaford, stated, “Without the help of the event hosts, Museum volunteers, the wonderful gourmet restaurant sponsors, and attendees, this evening would never have been the success that it was. The benefit auction is the major fundraiser and social event of the year!” Artist Sara Balbin had created and donated a unique "Dragonfly on the Wing" sculpture for a special raffle, A second raffle brought in $5,000 for Junior Naturalists support, a program that provides science experimentation and outdoor explorations to children ages 6-12.
