Museum Collections
The Museum’s collections are representative
of the natural history and biological diversity of the upper
Midwest, in particular the western and upper Great Lakes region.
In-house collections include taxidermic mounts of birds and
mammals; preserved, dried and taxidermied fish, reptiles and
amphibians; animal skulls and skins; mounted and preserved
insects; a herbarium featuring vascular plants, seeds, mosses,
liverworts and lichens; rocks and minerals; plaster casts of
animal tracks; bird nests; and more.
If you would like to make a donation monetarily
or with the presentation of a gift to help support our
collections please contact Cully
Shelton,
our naturalist. In the past the Museum has acquired family
collections, personal contributions, and found items. Please
contact the Museum
before transporting any specimens in order to comply with current
wildlife laws. |
