Genetics and Genomics
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recognized
as the lead federal agency for protecting the health and safety
of people - at home and abroad, providing credible information
to enhance health decisions, and promoting health through strong
partnerships. CDC serves as the national focus for developing
and applying disease prevention and control, environmental health,
and health promotion and education activities designed to improve
the health of the people of the United States.
Modern
Genetics for All Students
This site is a project of Washington University's
Science Outreach Office, whose mission is to improve learning
in science and math for K-12 students. Our programs reflect
current educational and scientific research, blending hands-on,
investigative learning with rigorous content. The "Modern
Genetics for All Students" site requires an initial
online registration before downloading curriculum materials.
Explorations
for Kids: Genetics
This site provides a directory of homeschool resources on genetics
topics. Sites are divided into "beginners," "advanced," "DNA," and "Evolution." The
sites are loaded with activities, illustrations, short movies,
and interactive lessons.
