CABLE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
FORMS NORDIC SKI TEAM
The north woods winter offers
great opportunities for adventure and delight for hardy naturalists.
Many bird species overwinter in the north, and active mammals
tell stories with their tracks in the snow. Crisp, clear night
skies showcase the starry Milky Way, and the aurora borealis
often shines during long winter nights.
The outdoor lure of the northern winter attracts
cross-country skiers for many of the same reasons. To help promote
its mission of environmental stewardship and to encourage healthy
outdoor activity in the winter, the Cable Natural History Museum
has formed the Cable
Natural History Museum Nordic Ski Team. The team is a noncompetitive
club open to participants of all ages and ability levels who
are interested in supporting the Museum.
The benefits of ski team membership include an attractive t-shirt,
a custom-made hat and vest, and a winter jacket, all bearing
the team name and logo. The team will provide a network of training
partners for skiing and other activities, and will sponsor social
events, clinics and workshops for members.
Ski team memberships are available at three levels: Level One
members bring in $50 of donations or new Museum memberships,
and receive a team t-shirt and ski hat. Level Two members bring
in $100 of donations or new Museum memberships, and get a t-shirt,
ski hat, and vest. Level Three members bring in $250 of donations
or new Museum memberships, and receive a t-shirt, ski hat, vest,
and winter jacket.
Ski team members may join by becoming Museum members themselves
at the above levels, or by recruiting new Museum members who
join the Museum for a discounted annual rate of $25 each. Gift
ski team memberships also are available.
Museum members receive the Museum’s quarterly newsletter,
are notified of all Museum activities, enjoy a discount at the
Museum’s gift shop, and can take advantage of discounted
fees for many Museum events.
To receive a ski team application form, or for further information,
contact the Cable Natural History Museum at (715) 798-3890 or
