Museum Welcomes New Naturalist
The Cable Natural History Museum welcomes Cully Shelton to its
staff as Museum Naturalist.
Cully is a familiar face around the Museum, having worked as
an environmental education intern here in the summer of 2003
and again in the spring of 2005. A Madison, Wis., native, he
graduated last spring from Northland
College in Ashland, Wis.,
with a degree in outdoor education and a minor in environmental
education.
Through the last several years, Cully has
developed and exhibited significant leadership skills. He received
a Leadership and Service Scholarship to attend Northland College,
and while a student there served as a student senator and a
student trustee, and was chosen to deliver the Honor’s
Day Senior Address. At Northland he also worked as an Adventure
Program Leader and Trip Leader, planning and leading outdoor
and educational trips for other Northland students.
In addition to his environmental education internships at the
Cable Natural History Museum, Cully also worked an internship
as an historical interpreter at the Living History Farms of Des
Moines, Iowa, and as a camp counselor at various camps in Wisconsin.
