Centers for Disease
Control
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is
recognized as the lead federal agency for protecting the health
and safety of people - at home and abroad, providing credible
information to enhance health decisions, and promoting health
through strong partnerships. CDC serves as the national focus

U.S.
EPA Air Quality Index
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Air Quality Index
(AQI) tells you how clean the air is and whether it will
affect your respiratory health. EPA, state and local agencies
work together to report current and forecast conditions for
ozone and particle pollution. Check out how clean the air
is where you live! Check out this

Pollution: What's the Solution?
This educational project, for students in grades 6-12,
uses online real-time data to guide student discovery
of the science behind the causes and effects of ground

UCL
Centre for Respiratory Research
The Centre for Respiratory Research at UCL is dedicated
to improving our understanding of the pathogenesis of debilitating
respiratory diseases, and conducting research aimed at finding
a better treatment of these diseases. The Department comprises
a team of over 50 scientists and clinicians, based at 5 hospitals
and research institutions, working on the basic cellular and
molecular mechanisms of respiratory diseases and their clinical
applications through conducting clinical trials of new therapeutic
agents. Follow links from this page to descriptions of cutting-edge
respiratory research.
